Terms of Service
Last updated: July 27, 2026
The short version
- Use Freecoursera for your own career planning.
- Don't break the law, attack our systems, or misrepresent yourself.
- You own what you upload. We show it back to you and use it to run the service.
- Our plans and match scores are guidance, not guarantees.
- You can close your account any time.
1. Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Educivitas Limited ("Educivitas", "we", "us"), operator of the Freecoursera service, about your use of our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you don't, please don't use it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher. By creating an account you confirm the information you give us is accurate.
3. Your account
- Keep your password confidential.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account.
- Tell us right away if you notice unauthorised use.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or anyone's rights while using the Service.
- Upload malware, run automated scraping, or attack our systems.
- Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or evidence in the Skill Wallet.
- Reverse engineer or copy substantial portions of the Service.
- Resell the Service without our written permission.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload (evidence, notes, wallet entries). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and process that content so we can run the Service for you. Please only upload content you have the right to use.
6. AI-assisted output
Roadmaps, match scores, and other AI-assisted output are guidance only. They can be wrong. Review them before acting — especially before paying for a course or applying for a job.
7. Third-party services and jobs
The Service links to and aggregates third-party content (job listings, courses, occupational data from ESCO and O*NET). We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or terms of those third parties. Job applications are subject to the employer's own terms.
8. Fees
Some features may require payment. Prices, billing cycles, and refund rules will be shown at the point of purchase and take priority over these terms for paid features.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, with reasonable notice for material changes where practical.
10. Termination
You can close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, misuse the Service, or if required by law. On termination the licences you granted us end, subject to any legal retention set out in our privacy policy.
11. Warranties and disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits your non-excludable rights as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.
12. Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event, or (b) a nominal amount equal to your last month of use. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, or loss of data.
13. Indemnity (business users)
If you use the Service in the course of a business, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll highlight material changes in-app or by email. Continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales — the principal place of business of Educivitas Limited — without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence. Any dispute may also be brought in your local courts where local law requires.
16. Contact
Please use our contact page for any questions about these terms.
